Stem Cell Hypocrisy

I have a wild theory, if you can call it such.

We've all heard the uproar over the President's veto of the embryonic stem cell legislation. My theory, or whatever is this:

The left/PETA type always argue for the rights of animals. Those stupid little creatures that can't EVER care for themselves. Of course, don't get me wrong, I love animals- have two myself- but I won't ever consider an animal superior to a human being. The left/PETA type demand stop testing "POTENTIAL" life saving drugs/medical procedures, etc..... on animals. You know, it's cruel and inhumane treatment (Oh, boo hoo); or a number of other reasons.

Consider this paragraph for a second:

"Daily, thousands of wild animals die as a result of shrinking habitats and other human-imposed dangers. Daily, millions of domestic animals die from abuse, neglect, overpopulation (euthanasia) and factory farming."

Or this:

"What do the above-mentioned have in common? All are sentient souls who have the ability to feel pain, fear, hope and loss. The above-mentioned cherish life and consider their lives of the utmost importance. All suffering is the same."

BUT, they argue WE NEED embryonic stem cells to discover "POTENTIAL" live saving cures to a number of diseases.

So, it is ok to test on a human life, but not on animals? The same notion applies with abortion, it is ok to kill a human through abortion, but hunting and fishing are evil and cruel and inhumane?

The life of an animal is FAR more important than that of the unborn (think the spotted owl debate). Kill a human life, it's a choice; kill a animal it's a crime.

Even More Proof that Tax Cuts are Working... IN AMERICA!

Pete Du Pont has a has a piece in the WSJ Opinion Journal section on the effects and benefits of the Bush tax cuts. The numbers are staggering: less than three years the economy has expanded by $2.2 trillion dollars or 20%. (remember calls of the worst economy since Herbert Hoover).

But to easily sum it up in one line, I quote: "the truth is that when tax rates go down, economic activity goes up. "

Tax Cuts are Working, Especially in Minnesota

More proof of the effects of lower taxes.

Wal-Mart

This article is a good read on Democrats and Wal-Mart.

Ho Hum.....

Today is one of those days, so much to say, so little motivation to say it and not sure how to say it (a minor case of writers' block). I'm kinda in a mediocre mood.

Foot was distressed about a stressed pecker and now I've learned of a MOB constitutional crisis;

Triple_A was gleefully as a child on Christmas about his meeting with "The Man", Karl Rove, and he should be;

Things are a bit stressful around the old household because of some personal matters; I don't see a way out and it's effecting me more than I wish it too.

Anyway, I probably won't have much today in the way of posting, besides the above and I'm back home computerless again (happy to see the wife again!).

Israeli/Arab Conflict Timeline

Just pursing the internet and found this. Interesting for those of us who consider ourselves history buffs.

Hello, Is There Anyone Out There?????

Hello, comments, pleeeeeeeassse!

TRUTH ALERT- More Whites Executed than Blacks under the Death Penalty

Whenever there is discussion of the death penalty, we get the same old argument that is disproportionately more blacks are executed than other races. But, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, this does not appear to be the case. Since the death penalty has been reinstated in 1976, more than half of those on death row have been white.

An Open Letter to the Citizens of Minneapolis: I'm Sorry

Dear All:

I want to personally extend my sincere apologizes.

Because back in 2001 I voted for your current mayor R.T., "Brokeback", Ryback. Yes, I am so sincerely sorry. I thought he would prove to be a better alternative to Sharon Sayles "Wellstone"-Belton. Man, I was wrong! Mind you, if there had been a real alternative on the ballot, I would have voted for that person. Unfortunately, under the election methods in place, I didn't have much of a choice.

Had I known the Brokeback mayor would put the citizens of this once great city in danger for political gain, I would not have voted or voted against him; because I find voting a crucial part of our republican form of government, not voting wasn't an option. I accept personal responsibility for the serious and deadly mistake I made.

So, as I sit at home and contemplate my 2001 decision, the decision to leave without the opportunity to correct a serious and costly wrong, and the safety of others, I will deeply regret my mistake of voting for the Brokeback Mayor.

Please accept my sincerest apologies.

Very sincerely,

TruthDefender

A lesson the Left Should Learn

The left should take this to heart.

Common Sense Prevails in Court Ruling on Maryland Wal-Mart Law

A federal court ruled the Wal-Mart Law passed in Maryland, despite the governor's veto was struck down by a federal district court judge on Wednesday.

Has Pat Buchanan lost his Credibility?

I think Pat Buchanan has put the nail in the coffin of his credibilty with this column.

Winston Churchill Part 2

"We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields, and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!"

Winston Churchill

I watched a show about Winston Churchill on PBS yesterday and gave me the ideas to post some quotes from this great man. I think in today's world President George W. Bush is the American equivalent to Winston Churchill.

Here is the answer which I will give to President Roosevelt... We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down. Give us the tools and we will finish the job.

Thank you New York Times!

When I read reports like this, it makes me want to personally thank the New York Times for their excellent reports on how the U.S. Government is tracking down terrorists and preventing a further attack on American soil.

Maybe because of the New York Times, also know as the treasonous paper of record, I don't feel as secure as I should. But, the hatered for Bush runs so deep, they would be willing to sacrifice the safety of me and my family and others in America to press their own political agenda.

Once again, thanks again NYTs! I just pray for those with more sense, brains, and a sense of maturity that is working to overcome the damage you have caused and working to keep me and all Americans safe.

TRUTH ALERT: Higher Prices Mean Less Money for Road Work

According to an article that appeared in the Pierce County Herald June 12, 2006, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is expecting the road-building fund to be $68 million in the red. They contribute this to higher gas prices.

Gas Revenues are now expected to be $70 million less
than what was projected a year ago. Higher gas prices are also resulting in fewer car sales and that means motorists will pay $26 million less than expected or vehicle registrations.

This really does show that those who call for a higher gas tax to fund road projects (in Minnesota the leader was Rep. Ron Erhardt, R-Edina) clearly don't understand the consequences/simple economics. Higher prices, less demand, lower prices more demand. Higher taxes, less revenue, lower taxes, more revenue. Higher tax, higher price of gas, less revenue.

And on the lighter side......

It is approximately 12:20 am, I'm awake for some insane reason all-to-well knowing the mini-human-monkeys, destructors will be up in, oh 5 or 6 hours. I'm up having a mid-night beer. All I can say is Miller Lite sucks donkey ass. I have always thought beers tasted alike. But since all I had the last 10 months is primarily Lienkugels, I can tell the difference.

So I thought I would ramble on about something unexciting. Well all need a break from liberals worthless crap every now and then.

So, to anyone as insane as me and up at this lonely hour, Cheers!

Land for Peace=Land for Terror?

Please read Michael Medved's piece on the matter.

How 'bout a shootin' gallery....?

Oh please! This sound so flipping LAME! I mean, I never really went to the penny arcaid, I'm usually a machinary hill/farm animal guy (of course the food), but seriously ANYTHING but a butterfly exhibit. How about a shooting gallery?

TRUTH ALERT- The Tax Cuts are Working!

On Sunday the New York Times reported that tax revenues were $200 billion higher than projected and that the budget deficit would be approximately $100 billion less. OH really? I thought the evil tax cuts meant death to us all; government would cease to exist as we know it.

In Tuesday, the President announced the numbers: The deficit will be $296 billion, $127 less than projected. The tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 are working, just as they did in the 80's and just as John F. Kennedy predicted in 1962 (on a side note, his own brother, the drunken sailor, driver, boozing womanizer, Teddy is running from his own brothers legacy, but that's for another day).

Revenues are up, the deficit is down, the TAX CUTS ARE WORKING! Why can't the left be positive about this? The answer is very simple: It takes away from their tax and spend, big government, we're better than you, so we need to control your money attitude. The interesting part of this is the revenue is coming from corporations and the wealthy...... and, according to Rep. John Spratt D-SC on CSPAN Monday night individual tax revenue is down or hasn't caught up to the 90's (remember the 90's, the decade that lead to Eron, Tyco, etc.....). Oh boo hoo! I prefer to spend my money instead of having it taken from me and redistributed so I'll never see it again.

The fact, TRUTH IS, when rates are cut, money is returned to the taxpayer, who will spend that money on cars, homes, vacations. Basically investing in various industries, who will need to hire workers to keep up with supply and demand, which creates supplies that leads to demands for other industries. All these new workers pay taxes; all these companies pay taxes on their profits, etc...... In the end the country receives more revenue.

We came, We MILF'd, We conquered!

Team Comment Trolls (M. Gehrity, Nate B and myself) pulled out a major upset over highly favorite Nihilist in Kool Aid Pants (Mr. Learned Foot and The Nihilist in Golf Pants). Learned Foot was defending champion.

Despite my play, which I'll admit was one of my better shitty rounds, with consistent 7's, M. Gehrity carried the team!

I would like to extend my thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Foot for their gracious hospitality. The beer and food was great! I had a great time and look forward to defending the title next year (at least I'll practice more before the round!)

Blogroll Me!
