Stem Cell Hypocrisy
We've all heard the uproar over the President's veto of the embryonic stem cell legislation. My theory, or whatever is this:
The left/PETA type always argue for the rights of animals. Those stupid little creatures that can't EVER care for themselves. Of course, don't get me wrong, I love animals- have two myself- but I won't ever consider an animal superior to a human being. The left/PETA type demand stop testing "POTENTIAL" life saving drugs/medical procedures, etc..... on animals. You know, it's cruel and inhumane treatment (Oh, boo hoo); or a number of other reasons.
Consider this paragraph for a second:
Or this:"Daily, thousands of wild animals die as a result of shrinking habitats and other human-imposed dangers. Daily, millions of domestic animals die from abuse, neglect, overpopulation (euthanasia) and factory farming."
"What do the above-mentioned have in common? All are sentient souls who have the ability to feel pain, fear, hope and loss. The above-mentioned cherish life and consider their lives of the utmost importance. All suffering is the same."
BUT, they argue WE NEED embryonic stem cells to discover "POTENTIAL" live saving cures to a number of diseases.
So, it is ok to test on a human life, but not on animals? The same notion applies with abortion, it is ok to kill a human through abortion, but hunting and fishing are evil and cruel and inhumane?

Even More Proof that Tax Cuts are Working... IN AMERICA!
But to easily sum it up in one line, I quote: "the truth is that when tax rates go down, economic activity goes up. "

Ho Hum.....
Foot was distressed about a stressed pecker and now I've learned of a MOB constitutional crisis;
Triple_A was gleefully as a child on Christmas about his meeting with "The Man", Karl Rove, and he should be;
Things are a bit stressful around the old household because of some personal matters; I don't see a way out and it's effecting me more than I wish it too.
Anyway, I probably won't have much today in the way of posting, besides the above and I'm back home computerless again (happy to see the wife again!).

TRUTH ALERT- More Whites Executed than Blacks under the Death Penalty
An Open Letter to the Citizens of Minneapolis: I'm Sorry
I want to personally extend my sincere apologizes.
Because back in 2001 I voted for your current mayor R.T., "Brokeback", Ryback. Yes, I am so sincerely sorry. I thought he would prove to be a better alternative to Sharon Sayles "Wellstone"-Belton. Man, I was wrong! Mind you, if there had been a real alternative on the ballot, I would have voted for that person. Unfortunately, under the election methods in place, I didn't have much of a choice.
Had I known the Brokeback mayor would put the citizens of this once great city in danger for political gain, I would not have voted or voted against him; because I find voting a crucial part of our republican form of government, not voting wasn't an option. I accept personal responsibility for the serious and deadly mistake I made.
So, as I sit at home and contemplate my 2001 decision, the decision to leave without the opportunity to correct a serious and costly wrong, and the safety of others, I will deeply regret my mistake of voting for the Brokeback Mayor.
Please accept my sincerest apologies.
Very sincerely,
TruthDefender

Here is the answer which I will give to President Roosevelt... We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down. Give us the tools and we will finish the job.

Thank you New York Times!
Maybe because of the New York Times, also know as the treasonous paper of record, I don't feel as secure as I should. But, the hatered for Bush runs so deep, they would be willing to sacrifice the safety of me and my family and others in America to press their own political agenda.
Once again, thanks again NYTs! I just pray for those with more sense, brains, and a sense of maturity that is working to overcome the damage you have caused and working to keep me and all Americans safe.

TRUTH ALERT: Higher Prices Mean Less Money for Road Work
Gas Revenues are now expected to be $70 million less
than what was projected a year ago. Higher gas prices are also resulting in fewer car sales and that means motorists will pay $26 million less than expected or vehicle registrations.
This really does show that those who call for a higher gas tax to fund road projects (in Minnesota the leader was Rep. Ron Erhardt, R-Edina) clearly don't understand the consequences/simple economics. Higher prices, less demand, lower prices more demand. Higher taxes, less revenue, lower taxes, more revenue. Higher tax, higher price of gas, less revenue.

TRUTH ALERT- The Tax Cuts are Working!
In Tuesday, the President announced the numbers: The deficit will be $296 billion, $127 less than projected. The tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 are working, just as they did in the 80's and just as John F. Kennedy predicted in 1962 (on a side note, his own brother, the drunken sailor, driver, boozing womanizer, Teddy is running from his own brothers legacy, but that's for another day).
Revenues are up, the deficit is down, the TAX CUTS ARE WORKING! Why can't the left be positive about this? The answer is very simple: It takes away from their tax and spend, big government, we're better than you, so we need to control your money attitude. The interesting part of this is the revenue is coming from corporations and the wealthy...... and, according to Rep. John Spratt D-SC on CSPAN Monday night individual tax revenue is down or hasn't caught up to the 90's (remember the 90's, the decade that lead to Eron, Tyco, etc.....). Oh boo hoo! I prefer to spend my money instead of having it taken from me and redistributed so I'll never see it again.
The fact, TRUTH IS, when rates are cut, money is returned to the taxpayer, who will spend that money on cars, homes, vacations. Basically investing in various industries, who will need to hire workers to keep up with supply and demand, which creates supplies that leads to demands for other industries. All these new workers pay taxes; all these companies pay taxes on their profits, etc...... In the end the country receives more revenue.

Al-Quida's #1 Killed in Iraq
But of course, you'll hear the typical nay-sayers. Zarqwi's death doesn't mean anything, the insurgents will still be out killing our troops, they'll get behind new leader. Yes, that may be true, but it also sets the insurgents back. They are, and I suspect will be, more disorganized and that will cause problems. It is also a huge morale boost for our troops who have been under fire from the left in this country.
It will also help the President and the message that we are WINNING the war on terror.
God Bless the USA!

We are consistently told by environutters like AlGORE the world is ending; global warming is the end of life as we know it, blah, blah, blah. Yet, the truth is the world goes through cycles. It warms up, it cools down.

McClatchy Company to Buy Knight-Ridder
I seriously hope, the rock in my gut I feel about this deal does not comes true. I worry that the purchase will leave the Twin Cities with one S & S (Star Tribune) or two S&S molded papers. The thought is my worst nightmare.
I enjoy the Pioneer Press. I actually subscribe to it, I think it is a fair newpaper (I don't always agree with the editorials, but at least with the ones I don't, they put some reasonable thought and try to make a intelligent argument). Also, I can get it delivered to me in Wisconsin. The S&S, is so out of touch with reality, that it can't be considered a reasonable news source (I think they still believe the economy is the worse since the great depression; Bush was responsible for 9-11; and Michael Moore is a good American).
McClatchy may have to sell off the PP to avoid anti-trust issues, but what this means for the future of the PP, I don't know. Some analyst think McClatchy could eliminate the PP! (If they do, or there is a substantial change in the way the PP is published, I'll cancel my subscription.)

Dubai World Port- RIP
The result: Dubai Ports World will now RUN ONLY PORTS WHERE CARGO
IS PACKED AND SENT TO THE UNITED STATES, instead of managing ports
where the same cargo in unloaded (emphasis added).
Well, in my poor judgment, support for the president, and lack of an understanding of national security, it would seem to me that control of where the cargo is LOADED is far more of a security threat than simply unloading the cargo.

Kirrrrrby Puckett
As one of the greatest World Series ever played, it will be Puckett carrying the Twins, who were on the brink of elimination, in game 6; single handedly winning that game for the Twins. We will always remember Pucketts contagious smile, his laughter, or his hard play and dedicated team work and his awesome leaping catches that still to this day, give me shivers to hear John Gordon or Herb Carnel making the call. A player who could have made millions more for a big market team, stayed loyal to the team that brought him to the majors. MN and I especially will be grateful for all the great memories. Puck, my prayers are with you, get better. Baseball needs you around for many more years!

Dubai World Port
Sometimes, for me, politics is about gut feelings; from the moment the left and the horse poop Republicans made this a bigger story than needed, I never could jump on the bandwagon that this deal was so terrible to invoke the tantrum of 2-year olds . Let me explain my thoughts:
1. This is a deal between two companies, both foreign, to manage and run ports in the U.S. The U.S would MAINTAIN ALL responsibility for security;
2. President Bush has shown exemplary leadership on the War on Terror and protecting the homeland (remember NSA surveillance; an actual response to the attacks on 9-11; fighting the terrorist in the Middle East and not at home). So why would he or the administration support anything that would uncut national security?
I did think a 45 day review process should have been in place; DPW has agreed to push the closing back 45 days to allow further review. And after the review, Congress should climb back into a hole and let the deal proceed.
In my heart, I could not oppose this deal and under cut my President. So, why you ask? In addition to the two items I mentioned above, I also listened to those who I consider more "in the know" than me. From that I have considered the follow (note NO ITEM CONSISTS OF JIMMY CARTER'S SUPPORT or BILL CLINTON'S SUPPORT):
1. We hear how terrorism is a result of a poor underserved class of people. Maybe (though I'll admit a danger lies here) jobs can be created in the region because of this deal;
2. A number of DPW employees are American or have American ties, this includes its general counsel;
3. UAE is an ally on our war on terror. Many of our Naval ships are located at a port in the UAE;
4. As Tony Snow discussed recently on his radio program, the UAE is located close to an important base in Iran and;
5. Again as Tony Snow has argued, and I agree, did we not host a number of the 9-11 hijackers in AMERICA? Does that mean we can not do business with those American cities? How about our European friends: Didn't the 9-11 hijackers have a stay in Hamburg, Germany? Oh, how about our support of Osama Bin Laden in the 80's or Saddam Hussein? Maybe we shouldn't do business with ourselves because we have support and supplied terrorists in the past!
The point is, no country is perfectly clean, no country ever will. I think there is some truth, though not 100% racial profiling, that this is an anti-middle east; anti-Muslim position to not support the deal.
I've attached an Opinion Journal editorial supporting the deal (title link). It makes good sense and a better argument than I could make.

The policy shall state:
Under no circumstance, shall a member of the press, unless covering the WH from a place of personal residence, shall be present or cover the president while intoxicated.
While saying this, he should be looking at David Gregory. Not just a glance, but a full force, eye to eye contact. Then admit he is kidding and laugh! I would love to see the expressions during this joke.

The Democrats Have Sunk to Even Newer LOWS
I AM MADDER THAN HELL AFTER READING THIS ARTICLE!
Let's start with white guy: Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD):
I don't think the African-American community is going to want to give a stamp of approval to the Bush Administration
Hmmmm, Condi Rice, Collin Powell, other non-black minorities (excuse me, AMERICANS)......
Would they ever with all the free handouts the Dems want to give them?
Further on in the story we read:
You might have a crossover of black Democrats voting for Steele. That's what everybody is really worried about. It's what we called a legacy vote, " (yeah vote for the party of slave holders-- History lesson: Lincoln-Republican, CIVIL WAR, Democrats-Slave holders, ROBERT BYRD-D WV also KKK MEMBER), says state Sen. Gloria Lawlah (Law-lah? LA LA LA kida like the words coming out of her mouth, LA LA LA), Prince George's (you don't think she thinks this about the President do you?) Democrat and member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland"
I call that real freedom to vote! Maryland's new state motto should read: "If you're black, come to Maryland, we want to suppress your vote or "Come to Maryland, where if you're black, you better only vote Democrat, OR ELSE!"
In the end, where is the blame on the chocolate mayor? Can't criticize him for anything can we? Or DEMOCRAT Kathleen (I need to look pretty for the cameras) Blanco? What has the Democratic party done for blacks? NOTHING.... Keep 'em poor, keep 'em stupid, keep 'em coming back for more and we get the votes! IT IS A SHAME!

Ted Kennedy *BURP* Environmentalist
A fight to block alternative fuel development that could replace oil-burning power plants for communities along the Nantucket Sound has created an unusual alliance on Capitol Hill, with Sen. Edward M. Kennedy backing the fight against the green proposal.
Mr. Kennedy, a staunch environmentalist, opposes the Cape Wind project, which will place windmills in the sound's shallows to create electricity for customers in Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
The Drunken sailor is a hypocrite! An environmentalist, but he opposes the wind towers. Why, because it's in his, and a bunch of elite leftist "backyard". I mean, we wouldn't want to destroy the view for these bunch (I know of Kennedy and Walter Knokite who oppose this). Of course, we don't want to destroy the mooses' habitat either.
It is funny how convenient it is to oppose something when it effects an elitist group of leftist! But, if some average Joe or Joanne Citizen wants to do what they want on their OWN property, and they sit on wetlands, they can't and matter of fact they go to jail. Simply because the will of these elitist to impose their will on others is sickening!
Hudson goes on:
Critics say the Massachusetts Democrat doesn't want the Cape Wind project in his own back yard along with 130 windmills that might clutter the water view of the Kennedy clan's vacation home. Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts' junior senator and another key green ally, called attempts to derail the project an "insult."
MY GOD, I PARTIALLY AGREE WITH LURCH!
Hudson concludes:
Massachusetts declared Nantucket Sound an ocean sanctuary in the 1970s, thus banning disturbance of nearly the entire seabed as well as the view.
Mark Forest, chief of staff for Rep. Bill Delahunt, Massachusetts Democrat who represents the Nantucket area, called it "a very contentious battle."
"We have a need for energy, but there is a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it -- this is the wrong way," Mr. Forest said.
Mr. Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, has issued a statement opposing Mr. Young's legislative move.
"The Young amendment is an insult to Americans who care about good government. I oppose this backdoor amendment to the Coast Guard Authorization bill, which -- if passed -- will derail offshore wind projects across the nation," he said.
Mr. Rodgers said the use of wind power would reduce air pollution from the oil-fired Canal Power plant and ease the demand for electricity throughout New England, which faces the threat of rolling blackouts during cold winter days.
Asked about Mr. Kennedy's opposition to the plan, Mr. Rodgers said, "To say you favor wind power, but not here, where you live in a very windy place, calls into question your real commitment to wind power."
In plain American English, if it effects an elite group of left-wing nuts, it is bad policy. If it effects average Joe American then let the gov't run wild, take and develop away!
Kennedy is a hypocrite, he doesn't care for the little guy, nor has he ever.

Neck Tuck or the Poor and Suffering Victims of Katrina
Need I say more!
Brian Melendez is a shamless human and a disgrace to our Vets and America
Coleman's third column on the Midwest Heroes ads quotes certain email messages he received from "soldiers, family members and veterans of past conflicts" supporting his columns. Here is one we received from an Iraq war veteran ("back from Tikrit") addressing the substance of Coleman's columns and Melendez's calumny: Have you ever noticed that when Democrats dissent on the Iraqi campaign, and their criticism or dissent is rebutted, they quickly seek refuge with, "How dare you question my patriotism"?
Yet, here we have the head of the Minnesota DFL calling Iraqi veterans and their families "un-American" for stating their beliefs about the war. Republicans are often senseless when it comes to the cut-and-thrust of local politics, but here is a case where Minnesota Republicans, followed shortly thereafter by the national Republican Party, should 1) call for a written and public apology from Brain Melendez to the veterans and their families; 2) call for Melendez to resign as Chairman of the DFL, as he is unfit to head a reputable political outfit; 3) call on other prominent Democrat leaders to repudiate Melendez and his ugly statements.
More personally, I'm an Iraqi veteran twice over. I know we fight Al Qaeda, among others, in Iraq. I know Al Qaeda attacked us repeatedly in the 1990s, attacked the USS Cole in 2000, and attacked us again on 9-11-2001. Since I share the same knowledge and beliefs as the people in the "Midwest Heroes" ads, Melendez has also insulted me as an un-American liar. I want an apology from him and from his party.
By the way, I was also serving in the 101st until very recently, but unfortunately did not run into LTC Repya. I hope I can still serve at his age.
Rick Waddell
COL, US Army Reserve
First Col. Waddell, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! You are a true American and a real hero to all of us.
Col. Waddell is right, Brian Melendez should resign!
Melendez is a shameful excuse for an American, and YES, I WILL QUESTION HIS PATRIOTISM! He and others like him HATE AMERICA and everything it stands for. Not I, the TruthDefender!
I am curious how much of his over paid lawyer salary he puts to the causes he thinks I need to pay for? Matter of fact, these partial-birth abortions gone bad morons, critize the President for violating the Constitution, yet they want to suppress the speech of our Vets.
Melendez, you and your leftist thugs are a disgrace to all Americans and a bigger disgrace to those who fought so you could shoot your worthless mouths off.

Cheney v. Kennedy
Ok, that is now an old joke, but it is true! And yet the MSM is SO BLASTED CONCERNED that they did not get their dirty, grubby little hands on a story that they would use to embarrass the Bush Administration until 14 hours later. NO MENTION, mind you, of Sen. Kennedy's little joy ride and the time that passed while a young woman was left to die.
The whole Cheney incident is a non-news story for me. There are more important topics (for example, how incompetent Democrats are), to be covered. How about the good going on in Iraq, or the liberal failure called Minneapolis, or Iran, or how well our economy is... no! It's a non-issue, no laws broken, hunting accident.
No wonder I don't watch the MSM anymore.

Super Bowl Prediction
I believe a good defense can shut down any offense, thus I think the Steelers will win 21-14.
All, I ask is Shaun Alexander NOT GET HURT! He's my first round draft pick in next season's Fantasy Football draft.
STAY THE H.E. "DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS" OUT OF MY LIFE! Deal with the real issue!
I am a responsible driver, I drive no more than 5 over the speed limit, I try not to tailgate, and I drive slower when the roads have precipitation on them. I won't have an accident, someone will do something completely stupid that will effect me. But, getting back to my point: DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM! Get more troopers on the roads, enforce traffic laws. But, since politicians are smarter than the average bear, the problem goes unsolved and we deal with the effects.
And, like the recent lobbyist scandals in Washington, instead of dealing with the problem-- unethical and criminal pols and lobbyists-- NEW LAWS added to existing laws to deal with these people will be introduced and passed. Dealing with the effect instead of the cause.
But the bill will be signed by a Governor who has no problem with protecting the privacy to abort a human life; Doyle will in effect violate my privacy to transport my children as I see fit.
Bills like this make me think of issues like drivers and cell phones. All we hear is an absolute ban on driving and cell phone use. Why punish the majority of responsible drivers who can talk and drive at the same time? Enforce traffic laws on those who, while using their cell phones, violate the laws. But than again, I guess that is simply too obvious for politicians to figure out.
Let's deal with the larger problem, and stop dancing around it.
